About Pugmarks

Pugmarks was founded 21 years ago in Pune by 3 passionate conservationists including an IITian and a naturalist working for WWF.

Our core mission is “To sensitise the youth to the joy of the outdoors and nature conservation while enhancing their personal development”. 

Each year thousands of youngsters camp with us in their vacations at amazing places like Manali, Andamans, Kanha, Dandeli and more. 

Pugmarks is led by a dynamic team which has over 20 years of experience in adventure travel and ecotourism. Pugmarks has won many awards over the years, most notably the National Award from ATOAI for excellence in "Community-based adventure"

  • Day 1
    Meet the group at Delhi by 3 p.m. Transfer to bus for Overnight journey to Manali by Volvo bus.
  • Day 2
    Arrive at base camp for breakfast. Briefing and orientation. Tent allotment and issue of haversack, ponchos. Discussion on ‘Leave no trace (LNT)’ way of camping. In the evening, acclimatization walk up to Arjun Gufa, Sharvani Devi Temple, Bhanara hills and back to camp site at Shuru (5hrs).
  • Day 3
    Base Camp Shuru – Hamta Hills
    Today we move our base higher to Hamta hills campsite, and on our journey learn more about the magnificent Mount Inderkilla, known as the crown of the local Gods and find out the story behind it as interpreted by the ancestors.
  • Day 4
    Hamta Hills – Kharimindiyari/ Soroutoo (3120M) 4 hours.
    The trek starts with a moderate section at the start, through forest of silver fir, Bhujpattar, oak and chestnut. As we reach Kharimindiyari campsite which is located in a grassy knoll at the foot of Rourikhauri, experience the enchanting view of the Dhauladhar range and its lofty mountain peaks -Hanuman Tibba, Shikhar-bay, Maker-bay and Friendship peaks and a full view of Chanderkhani Pass and the Malana valley.
  • Day 5
    Kharimindiyari - Raurikhauri (3750m) 5 hours trek.

    A zigzag route awaits us, as we begin our trek towards Raurikhauri. The reward at the end is a splendid view of Hanuman tibba, Tentu Pass, Makar-bey and group of Beas kund all mountain massif peaks and also landscape of Bara Bhangal. Stay overnight at Raurikhauri campsite.
  • Day 6
    Raurikhauri-Naag Sour Lake Exploration (4600m) and back Camp 5 hours
    The wait for SNOW is over- the climb though tough, is exciting with a chill wind blowing. A tiresome but refreshing walk through the long snowy field, gives an experience of enchanting open puff mountain distant view. As you walk through slippery snow covered gully up to flatten mountain top, get mesmerized by the view of the Kullu and Manali valley – pristinely beautiful.
  • Day 7
    Rourikhauri- Hamta Hills Campsite (2550M) 5 hours.

    Quite a strenuous steep walk down and a tiresome day of the trek, but the apple trees around make it more than worthy. The Maggi point and Chai enroute adds to the rejoice of nearing the end of the trek successfully. We reach Hamta Hills campsite, which is now blissful for recuperation after a hectic descent of ‘Naag Sour Lake’ trek. In the evening indulge in some fun activities and stay overnight at Hamta Hills.
  • Day 8
    Hamta Hills – Base Camp via Chhalet Village 3 hours.
    A gradual descend before a moderate climbto Gourudugh, a meadow amidst of the silver fir forest. Trail descends down through forest of blue pine, Cedar, oak, fir and via Chhalet Village till Base camp Shuru. Stay overnight at Base camp. Trek concludes.
  • Day 9
    Explore the campsite one last time, after a farewell ceremony enjoy your last Pahadi lunch and set off to depart for Delhi in the evening by bus.
  • Day 10
    Arrive New Delhi. Get transferred to Delhi airport to board the respective flights.
