Overview
A Cool Mountain Camp located on a hilltop overlooking the Saat-tal Lakes, Kayaking and Swimming in Crystal Clear Lakes, Jungle Camp-out
Hiking through dense Jungles, Bird & butterfly watching Trails, Hidden Waterfall & Stream Trek
Himalayan Lakeview Adventure, is a cool Mountain Camp at The Sattal, meaning “Seven Lakes”. It is an interconnected group of seven freshwater lakes in the Lower Himalayas near Bhimtal, Uttarakhand, known for its natural beauty and biodiversity. The air still smells like air, the moon is up close and personal, animals still own the forest and birds rule the skies. Apart from the abundance of natural beauty, the surrounding forest offers a lot of fun and action. The dense Oak and conifer forest makes Sattal a birders paradise with more than 300 species of birds. The camp, on a hilltop overlooking the Sattal lakes and at a moderate height of 1350 m (4,300 ft) it is an ideal all-season camp. You can go kayaking and swimming in Crystal Clear lakes and hiking through dense forests past hidden villages and waterfalls. Hike around the Lake and enjoy Rappelling and Valley Crossing, explore the Local Culture. Campfires and games complete the outdoor experience.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Pune/Mumbai to Delhi and Overnight Journey to Haldwani, Reach Campsite, Briefing and Orientation
Reach Airport and take a flight to Delhi, transfer to Kashmiri Gate ISBT / Anand Vihar Bus Point.
Board afternoon AC bus for Haldwani. Reach Haldwani and Get transferred to Campsite. Arrive at Sattal for Dinner. Instructions & Camp briefing and Orientation.
Day 2 – Ice Breakers, Treasure Hunt, Adventure Activities, Night Trail
The Seven Lakes Treasure Hunt – A fun game based on the principle of a treasure hunt, involving interaction with the locals, helping to familiarize participants with the surroundings with hikes through the village. Post Lunch Rappelling, Valley crossing, Night hike in surrounding area.
Day 3 – Kayaking, Cycling, Lake Study
After Breakfast adventure activities like Kayaking in the lakes, MTB(Cycling) ride to explore Petunia village, Ladder jump – in the lake, Lake study – Lake Formation, Ecology, Culture, Economy, Tradition. Evening Team Games, Campfire
Day 4 – Hidden Waterfall & Stream Trek, Forest Lunch
After Breakfast leave for Hidden Waterfall & Stream Trek – A treasure hunt-based hike through forest stream, waterfall, Forest Lunch near the stream, Trek back to the camp via Hidimba temple, Evening snacks, Team Games. Dinner and Campfire, Stargazing
Day 5 – Kayaking and Swimming in the lake, Jungle Campout
After Breakfast, Hike down to the lake for Kayaking and Swimming in the lake.
Lunch at lake side. Afternoon Get Ready for an amazing Jungle Campout – hike through the forest reach to jungle camp out site. Planning /Setup tents /Cook your own dinner in teams. Dinner. Sharing Stories and Experiences
Day 6 – Community Work, Village Interaction
Hike to the base camp and Breakfast. Explore the nearby village, work with village families to get to know their routine life, learn local songs, get to know the stories of the area, prepare your lunch with village families and have lunch together. Evening action – Live kitchen – Outdoor Cooking Bake your own pizza, cake, garlic bread, veggies and more. Face painting and theatre workshop – tent-wise themes to be presented at the Campfire.
Day 7 – Birding Trail, Visit to Butterfly Museum, Craft Workshop
Bird & butterfly watching trail. Post Breakfast, Craft workshop – hands-on craft sessions including Carpentry, Wood carving, Basket making etc. Drive to Butterfly Museum visit- learn about butterflies and biodiversity of Sattal. Evening Pack Bags, Camp Closure, Certification and Feedbacks. Celebrate last night of the Camp sharing stories and experiences around the Campfire.
Day 8 – Departure after Breakfast, ARRIVAL AT DELHI and Board Flight to Pune / Mumbai
Departure from camp After Breakfast for Haldwani. Board bus for Delhi. Reach Delhi Anand Vihar/ ISBT Kashmiri Gate. Transfer to Delhi Airport. Board evening flight for Pune/Mumbai
