The training program covers a wide range of subjects, from first aid to environment and team building to learning about Adventure. It is hands-on practical training under the guidance of experts in various fields.
Successful candidates receive Pugmarks certification. However, let us be clear on one point ‐ it is a tough life for volunteers. They are required to work hard and put in substantial hours in addition to normal obligations of their colleges. Sure enough, the rewards are worth all the hard work put in.

Eligibility –
- Enthusiasm and the ability to work hard are a must.
- Students of age 14 ‐ 25 years. Teachers, free lancers and house wives are welcome
Duration – 5 Nights – 6 Days
On successful completion of the course, Candidates will be rewarded with a Certificate
Opportunities –
- On successful completion, you will be certified as a Pugmarks Volunteer
- Get hands-on experience
- Become eligible to go on Pugmarks Camps, Tours and Outings, as a Trainee Volunteer
- You will also be paid fair honorarium, after one year of experiential training at various camps & outings & minimum 10 days on camps as a Trainee Volunteer
- Further, Get an opportunity to fortify your interests by doing courses like Mountaineering, Scuba Diving etc
Itinerary
Day 1 – Road Travel to Campsite, Team Bonding, Ice Breakers, Introduction to Equipment
- Leave from Pune/Mumbai around 7.00 am
- Reach the Campsite for Breakfast.
- Introduction, Ice breakers
- Outline of Training course
- Introduce yourself – Why are you so special? Why do you want to become a Volunteer ?
- Knowing different Pugmarks Camps and Outings.
- Post Lunch Team Bonding and Ice Breakers Activities, Team Games
- Evening Introduction to various Equipment used for Adventure Activities, Rope Knots.
Day 2 – Nature Trail, Conducting Team Games, Camp Management
- Morning Nature Trail in Forest, Know about Trees, Birds.
- Conducting Team Building Games, Learn many Indoor/ Outdoor Group Activities to keep the participants occupied and entertained
- Scoring, Understanding Fair Judgement, Do’s and Don’ts
- Planning and Setting Up Treasure Hunts
- Pugmarks Songs, Camp Management and Itinerary Planning,
- Managing Reporting and Expenses
- Travel Precautions – Train, Bus, Flights, Handling emergencies
Day 3 – Adventure and Safety, Compass, Tent Pitching, Handling Emergencies
- Full day to understand how different Adventure Activities are Conducted – Zip Line, Low Rope and High Rope Course, Laddering, Net Climbing
- Use of different Mountaineering Equipment, Harness
- Use of Compass and Orienteering
- Tent Pitching
- Pugmarks Emergency Response Procedure and Reporting
- Campfire and Campfire Songs
Day 4 – Survival Day – Challenge Yourself
- Survival Day – Departure After Breakfast for the True Challenge
- True Field Test Awaits, Physically and mentally Challenging. Basic Guideline and Support will be provided to the participants, Stay & Food.. will be all self managed.
- Reach the site – Cleaning if required, make it suitable for stay and preparing meals, collecting firewood, Tent Pitching
- Stay overnight in Outdoors
Day 5 – Wildlife Sessions, Learn Field Naturalist skills
- Prepare Breakfast for all participants
- Wind UP, Cleaning
- After Breakfast leave for Overnight Wildlife session at Phansad OR Bhimashankar Or Similar
- Learn Field Naturalist skills, Flora and Fauna, Conducting Nature Trails
- Info – Plants, Birds, Insects, Reptiles etc.
- Nature Based Games, Nature Collage, Scavenger Hunt
- Night Walk – Things to See and Experience, Safety and Precautions
Day 6 – Reflections, Experience Sharing and Departure
- Morning Nature Trail in Forest, Know about Trees, Birds.
- Presentations by Participants – Learnings, Experiences, Feedbacks
- Departure after Breakfast
- Leave Pune/ Mumbai by 2.00 pm
Things To Carry
- One Haversack and one small Shoulder bag (WE RECOMMEND NO TROLLEY BAG OR SUITCASE)
- Comfortable clothes for the no. of days (Track Pants, T-shirts, Tops etc) (Avoid Jeans)
- Suitable nightwear – shorts/ 3/4 s, Sweatshirt/Sweater/Jacket
- Undergarments, Towel, Napkin/Handkerchief, Ladies’ Sanitary Sets
- Sport Shoes, Socks, Floaters/Sandals/Crocs. Sun Cap, Sun Glasses, Fewiquik
- Water bottle, Personal Kit containing Toilet Accessories, Sun Screen, Cold Cream, Odomos
- Torch with Fresh Batteries
- Personal medicine, if any
- Travel/ Motion Sickness Tablet
- Pen and Notebook
- 1000/- as Emergency Cash
Survival Day Things to Carry will be communicated in the Pre Camp Meeting
Inclusions
- Pune / Mumbai – Campsite – Pune /Mumbai by non AC Vehicle
- Accommodation in AC Dorms on multiple sharing at Durshet and non AC for wildlife Session
- Meals as per itinerary. Survival meals are to be self made
- GST, Travel and Activity Insurance
Exclusions
- Personal expenses such as telephones, cold drinks, ice creams, mineral water, porter charges etc.
- Medical, hospitalization and related expenses
- Emergency evacuation
- Any insurance not covered under Inclusions
- Any item not covered under Inclusions
Notes
- Pugmarks reserves the right to Change/ Alter the itinerary
- School / Corporate outings – Volunteer yourself to go as a trainee instructor for Pugmarks during the training period and get valuable exposure to camping environment
- Treks, field trips, birding excursions will be announced from time to time. These will be optional but highly recommended. The fees will be based on cost sharing principle
