Pugmarks Local Summer Camps 2024 - Overview
Dear Parents, It gives us great pleasure to announce Summer Camps for the Year 2024. At Pugmarks, we give a lot of importance to how we plan our departures to suit different age groups, interests and encourage children to experience the outdoors while providing a playful environment. All our Camp Categories are drafted carefully so as fulfill our mission which is “To sensitize young people to the joy of the outdoors and nature conservation while enhancing their personal development”
Pugmarks Local Camps Summer 2024
The first Camp of the Child has to be the most important and enjoyable experience since it helps the child to introduce him/her to the fascinating world of Outdoors. It is here that the Child experiences for the first time Adventure and Nature along with aspects like Sharing and Teamwork. A Pugmarks Local Camp is a perfect Program for entry level outdoors education. It inculcates the love for outdoors in the Child. These camps are carefully designed to provide Outdoor Experience along with comfort in terms of Meals, Accommodation. The elements like Competition, Leadership, Team Building, Fun and Sharing add value to the Camp to leave long lasting memories. The Itinerary is made in such a way that along with the outdoors it provides ample leisure time to make new friends.
We assure you that your child might come to the camp alone, but would be going back with friends and memories to cherish for a lifetime.
Pugmarks Instructors
Pugmarks Instructors play an important part in the success of the Camp. These young Dadas and Tais accompany the Campers for the entire duration of the Camp. These young leaders are trained to look after campers. They ensure that the Campers gel into a group and have a great time together Playing, Exploring and Learning at the same time. All Pugmarks instructors are trained for First Aid, Problem Solving and Handling Emergencies. The Instructors team collectively have expertise in areas like Camp Management, Adventure Activities, Games etc. Apart from Adventure Activities they conduct a lot of Team Games, Nature Based Games, Competitions, Campfire, Songs, etc. to ensure there is never a dull moment on the Camp.
Campsites and Transportation
We have long term relationships with our Campsite Vendors, Transportation Suppliers to ensure that they are responsive to our requirements and provide all the necessary arrangements to ensure safe and comfortable Stays/Journeys. Food Menus are discussed in detail to keep Children fit and healthy on the Camp.
We arrange a complete start to end travel facility to ensure complete safety of the child. We have long term relationships with our transportation suppliers to ensure that they are responsive to our requirements. All the transports are 100% escorted by Pugmarks Instructors with at least one Girl Volunteer with the main bus. We keep a close watch on our suppliers to ensure all the protocols like Permits, Vehicle Capacity, Licenses, Safe Travels etc are taken care of. Also all the precautions are taken where other travel modes like Trains or Airways are used.
Pugmarks Safety Management System
We understand that as a Parent, you would be very anxious with respect to the safety of your child on the camp. And that is why, We have a fully documented safety management system which will certainly help you, in order to make the booking with confidence. We follow the best in class safety practices on all our camps/activities which include the following –
- Camps/ Tours are led by our trained Volunteers who have been trained by certified instructor in respective field and have years of field experience on pugmarks camps and also undergone our year long Volunteer Training Program ( VTP) which include among other things class room/ online sessions, a field module, a first aid course and a survival camp.
- All Adventure activities are conducted by fully qualified local instructors using certified equipment as mandated by the guidelines of Adventure Tour Operators Association of India.
- We have a fully documented emergency response plan and all our volunteers are fully briefed about the same.
- We use technology to enhance the safety of all campers by providing our volunteers the “Puggygang App”. This specially designed app is a checklist driven approach to ensure the implementation of our safety management system.
- We are registered as an Adventure Tour Operator under the Adventure Tourism Policy of Government of Maharashtra and we comply with all the guidelines under the same.
- We have long term relationships with our associates (Camp Site owners, activity and transportation suppliers) which ensures that they are responsive to our requirements.
- We take out insurance for each and every participant, covering all the activities for each of our camps.
- We communicate the risks involved in any camp to our customers and parents before they go on camp. They have an option to opt out in case they are not comfortable with the risk level in any camp.
- For high altitude treks, we conduct practice treks to judge the fitness level of the participants before the camp departure. Also, on initial few days on arrival at the base camp the participants are closely monitored for their individual acclimatization to the terrain.
- A Volunteer to Camper ratio of minimum 1: 10 over and above the Volunteers, at all the campsites, there would be a team of technical instructors to conduct all the activities. There will be a girl / lady volunteer at each camp.

Pugmarks was founded 21 years ago in Pune by 3 passionate conservationists including an IITian and a naturalist working for WWF.
